What We Do
Transportation:
These volunteers transport and accompany clients to and from appointments.
Clients can be assured the volunteer has a good driving record, a valid
drivers license, automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle. When the
volunteer is required to handle a wheelchair, we make sure the volunteer
assigned is capable of doing so.
Dinner Delivery:
These volunteers deliver an evening meal to homebound or physically challenged
clients. The meals are prepared by any of four local vendors. This is our ONLY
service that has any cost to the client. The client is required to reimburse
the driver for the cost of the dinner when it is delivered. This service is
provided 5 nights a week.
Family Caregiver Relief:
These volunteers provide respite (time away) to the
primary, full-time caregiver while providing companionship and a safe
environment for the care recipient. They are comfortable with folks with
illness or disabilities. They interact well with the care recipients, and though
they cannot provide medical assistance, they are trained to respond properly to
emergency situations.
Minor Repairs:
These volunteers provide assistance in areas of small repairs and minor
installations.
Shopping and Errands:
These volunteers assist our clients in purchasing food, household, personal care
items and medications. They also assist in doing other necessary errands
